Become A Hall Monitor
Protect students.
Hold school boards accountable.
The Hall Monitor Project is a community-powered network that keeps a watchful eye on local school boards to protect inclusive education. We're building a local network of volunteers to track school board activity, identify harmful trends, and organize the community to fight back.
What’s the Hall Monitor Project?
Across Arizona, policies targeting queer, trans and marginalized students are advancing quietly - often decided in sparsely attended meetings with little public scrutiny. Together, we make sure that every student’s right to a safe, affirming education is defended in the rooms where decisions are made.
Volunteers help us:
-
Monitor school board agendas and meetings
-
Flag harmful trends and proposals
-
Mobilize community response
-
Support inclusive schools for every student
How Does It Work?
Find Your Role
You don’t need to be an expert, just someone who cares. We’ve got three key ways to plug in:

Monitor
Attend school board meetings (or watch recordings) and fill out our tracking tool.

Organizer
Help get the word out about what’s happening and connect with community members.

Advocate
Speak at meetings, to media, or with other groups to defend inclusive education.
We’ve Got Your Back
Hall Monitors get access to helpful tools and training, including:
-
Talking points (on pronouns, bathrooms, student privacy, and more)
-
Model policy language
-
Public speaking coaching
-
Monthly check-ins with our team
-
Emergency support when urgent issues arise
We don’t expect you to do this alone, we do it together.
